Kiana Sabugo is a first-year graduate student studying Psychology & Neuroscience at Duke University. She led a team of research assistants in fMRI and psychophysiological data collection for Team Strick as part of the Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s initiative.
Her research utilizes lab-induced metacognitive experiences (such as probe caught mind wandering, guided meditation, and reflection on thought origination) to study their impact on perceptions of agency and control, with the goal to explore how changes in free will and related beliefs may impact both intrapersonal domains—such as emotion regulation skills, and interpersonal domains—such as moral judgments.
